The Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) has slated a meeting to discuss “preliminary issues” concerning the 2013-2014 migratory bird hunting regulations.

The meeting of FWS' Service Regulations Committee is scheduled for 11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Wednesday, Feb. 6 in conference room 2073, 4501 N. Fairfax St., Arlington, VA 22203. The public is welcome to attend.

The committee, also known as the Migratory Bird Regulations Committee, recommends policy to the FWS director regarding the annual rules for sport migratory bird hunting.

FWS updates migratory bird hunting rules every year concerning dates, bag limits and areas for each of the nation's four flyways.

In addition to the committee members, flyway council consultants and FWS officials will attend the meeting.

The four flyway councils (Atlantic, Mississippi, Central and Pacific) will discuss the issues raised at the February meeting at their respective March meetings.
