Mega Man Creator, Keiji Inafune, after stating that he won't release his new project, Mighty No. 9, for the Xbox One and the PS4 (because he "didn't understand the technology"), has now changed his mind. Apparently he got the memo that in 2015 (the scheduled release of the game), many gamers will be more focused in on the Xbox One and the PS4, as opposed to the Xbox 360 and PS3. So far, the game has surpassed his goals for the PC, Linux, and Mac releases. His goal for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U is now at $2.2 million.
With the next-gen systems now the focus, his aim is to surpass $3.3 million for those releases. As of now, Inafune's Kickstarter project is about to surpass $2 million, closing in on the current-gen and Wii U goals. With 22 days left, since the project started on August 31st, it wouldn't be surprising that it will surpass the Xbox One/PS4 goal before then. Capcom must be seething in envy right now.
