In their latest community update held every Tuesday, the developers behind the “Mighty No. 9” revealed one of their key artist is contributing to WayForward’s Kickstarter game, “Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.”
Makoto Yabe of Inti Creates is providing character illustrations and background art for “Half-Genie Hero,” and her upcoming 3DS title, “Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse.” Stand outs from Inti Creates’ portfolio include the “Mega Man Zero” series, “Mega Man 9,” and “Mega Man 10.” In addition to Yabe, other artistic talents lending a helping hand to the “Shantae” team include Gigi D.G of “Cucumber Quest,” and lead “Skullgirls” animator Mariel Cartwright.
“Their campaign is off to an awesome start, but who couldn’t use a Mighty Boost from our Mighty Beckers?!” the “Mighty No. 9” Kickstarter wrote in support for “Shantae: Half-Genie Hero.” “We've seen it before: your pledges, tweets, blogs, and facebook posts made the difference with Edo Superstar -- let’s see if we can’t do it again here!”
With 13 days left to go, the “Mighty No. 9” Kickstarter by former “Mega Man” designer, Keiji Inafune, has accumulated enough funds for console ports of the game. In contrast, the “Shantae: Half-Genie Hero” Kickstarter has so far earned 82 percent of its goal with 16 days left to go.
