Mighty Mouse prevails despite difficultries

The first "UFC on FOX" telecast as "FOX UFC Saturday" started off with some audio difficulties from the studio hosts, but ended with Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson (17-2-1) defeating former "The Ultimate Fighter" winner John "The Magician" Dodson (14-6) by unanimous decision to retain his UFC flyweight title.

Early on, Dodson was in the driver's seat by recording three knockdowns on Johnson in the second round. However, in the championship rounds, Johnson slowed down Dodson's attacks.

Two judges scored it 48-47, while the other recorded it as 49-46. That bout was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Prior to the main event, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's (32-11) tenure in the UFC ended by being defeated courtesy of Glover Teixeira (20-2) in a light heavyweight bout.

Teixeira dominated the fight on the ground because of taking down Jackson several times & cutting Jackson under his left eye in Round 2. The scores were two 30-27s and one 29-28.

Also on the telecast, Anthony "Showtime" Pettis (16-2) defeated fellow lightweight Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone (19-5, 1 NC) by TKO in 2:35, while featherweight Ricardo "The Bully" Lamas (13-2) beat Erik "New Breed" Koch (13-2) by TKO at 2:32 of Round 2. Pettis got the Knockout of the Night bonus.

The next "FOX UFC Saturday" card will be on April 20th.
