According to a Feb. 24 report from ProMMANow.com, Miesha Tate is eagerly awaiting another chance to fight Ronda Rousey.
Tate has been studying Rousey's game for over a year, and she thinks the star judoka has a habit of giving up her back.
"It was pretty much what I expected, but she did get a little sloppy there, giving her back up, which is a habit I have picked up on a little bit," Tate said of Rousey's UFC debut. "I got her back in the first fight and I guarantee you if I get it in the second one, I'm going to rip her face off."
Tate thinks if she had "Rowdy" in the same position that Liz Carmouche locked her in early in the UFC 157 tilt that she would have finished the fight in decisive fashion.
"100 percent," Tate said.
Tate's upcoming opponent, Cat Zingano, also wasn't impressed with Rousey's performance against Carmouche.
"It was exactly what I expected," Zingano said. "It's impressive because it's the first female fight in the UFC and I'm very proud that we're all part of it, but I think there's a lot of holes in [Rousey's] game. Time will tell."
Tate and Zingano will face one another at the TUF 17 Finale in April, with the winner likely facing Rousey in their next fight. The Tate vs Zingano fight was originally slated for Apr. 6 in Sweden, but was switched to the TUF 17 finale on Apr. 13.
No official word yet from the UFC, but a fight between Rousey and Tate or Zingano could take place as early as July.
Rousey sustained virtually no damage during her fight against Carmouche, so she should be good to go in a matter of months.
