Midwest screening of George Harrison film to benefit David Lynch Foundation

A benefit public screening of "George Harrison: Living In the Material World" for the David Lynch Foundation will take place this Sunday in the Midwest.

The screening will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center, 200 N. Main St., Fairfield, Iowa.

The poster for the event describes it as "a gift from Martin Scorsese and Olivia Harrison to benefit the David Lynch Foundation." The Lynch Foundation promotes the use of transcendental meditation.

This is not the first Beatles link with Lynch or the Foundation. A previous David Lynch Foundation benefit event, "Change Begins Within," held at New York's Radio City Music Hall in 2009, featured an on-stage reunion of Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Lynch himself was also present at the Ringo Starr Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony and the Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood "Imagine There's No Hunger" show at which Ringo made a brief appearance.
