The Oklahoma Heritage Museum sits on a rolling manicured lawn in a grand old office building. Tucked in between (Perle) Mesta Park and Heritage Hills historic districts it is something of a crown jewel at the intersection of NW 13th and Shartel and Classen Drive.
The property has been refurbished and turned into a museum of various and sundry Oklahoma history, under funding and direction of the Gaylord http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Gaylord and Pickens http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T._Boone_Pickens families.
The Oklahoma Heritage Museum also hosts increasingly visible youth events, including a teen advisory board and a teen scholarship fundraiser 5K. http://www.examiner.com/article/hey-teen-board-5k-land-run-this-saturday including OKC youth in understanding and making Oklahoma history.
