Midsummer, usually celebrated around June 21/22, marks the last of the seeding celebrations on the Pagan calendar. The planting of the Autumn crops is beginning and along with it early summer celebrations. In many homes, Pagan and non-Pagan alike, the celebration of the early summer months of no school, vacation time, and fewer cloths gets started early in Savannah. Summer here arrives early almost every year and with the impending heat also comes the urge to dance, spend time out doors enjoying the balmy evenings, and to enjoy crisp grilled early summer veggies.
Like most holidays, Savannah never misses a beat, and will certainly not be missing one this Saturday evening. Once again, the ladies of Savannah Pagan Pride Day have created an event not to be missed. DJ Talyn spins tunes from the 80's amidst raffles, 80's trivia, an 80's themed costume contest, and of course, lots and lots of dancing. Bring out your biggest hair and baddest dance moves to benefit a great and much loved event.
