The highly anticipated new Mortal Kombat will be released on Tuesday April 19th. Fans of the series have been waiting for a return of this fighting game to its violent roots for a while and soon the wait will be over. On Monday evening seven GameStop stores in the Dayton area will have midnight openings for those who really cannot wait to play the game.
Mortal Kombat, as it is simply titled again, will once again sport an M rating due to violence, gore, blood, partial nudity, and strong language. NetherRealm Studios has brought back the fatalities of the original games and made the 2011 release more in line with the original releases of this title.
The game can be pre-ordered through Monday evening and those who do just that will get a bonus. This time around the game will be released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The seven locations are E Linden Ave, W Dorothy Lane, Wilmington Pike, all three Miamisburg-Centerville Rd locations, and York Commons Blvd. Stores will be open at 10 pm for patrons to wait but not sell until 12:01 am. GameStop recommends arriving early due to the possibility of long lines and with the excitement over this game, that may very well be true.
