Midnight Madness at Johnson Creek Outlet Mall

Eat, drink and spend. Thanksgiving Day shopping seems to be the new trend replacing Black Friday traditions. Rather than crashing early with a full belly so you can wake up at the crack of dawn to snag the hot deals, stores this season are advocating never going to sleep. Why wait until morning when you can shop tonight?

One mall participating in the new trend is Johnson Creek Premium Outlets, about a 50 minute drive from Milwaukee. Located between our home-town and Madison, the outlet mall attracts buyers from both areas and will have a full house tonight. Most of the factory stores open at midnight, but some select shops will open early tonight. Fuel up on turkey, rest during the football games and then take off to the mall. Stop at Johnson Creek's 2 Loons Café to get your caffeine fix and go crazy. Old Navy and Tommy Hilfiger will open their doors at 10 PM, Banana Republic and Gap at 11 PM. Check the website for a full listing of who's opening early.

As far as deals go, if you have the stamina to miss sleep and the patience to deal with crowds then you are in for a treat. While all the stores will have some kind of special going on, certain shops are going all out. Bass and Ann Taylor are offering a staggering half-off their regular outlet prices and other vendors are following suit with 40% off at Eddie Bauer and a 30% discount at the Guess Accessories store. A printable guide to all promotions is available on Johnson Creek's website.

So start a new family tradition this year and head out to get your Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving is even over. Who needs sleep when you could be shopping?
