The Midland Center for the Arts is proud to announce a new exhibition to the Alden B. Dow Museum of Science and Art: The Art of Water. This unique look at the different artistic renditions of water opens February 6, 2010 and will remain open to the public through April 25, 2010.
"This group of exhibitions and artists truly reveals a panorama of creative vision as they express the universality of water and liquid for poetic interpretation," says Museum Director Bruce Winslow, by way of introducing this exhibition and the artists featured therewith. According to the MCFTA website, there will be numerous artists featured, including Clifford Smith, MaryBeth Thielhelm, Sandra Gottlieb, and Martin Waugh, as well as a mix of different art styles ranging from photographs and paintings to sculptures.
Guided tours will be offered the second and fourth Sunday of each month while the exhibit is open. Ticket prices are $13.00 for adults, $10.00 for children, and $7.00 for MCFTA members. To order tickets, either call MCFTA at (989)-631-8250 or (800)-523-7649 during normal work hours, or order online. (Note: to order tickets online, a standard processing fee will be applied.) These tickets also allow access to the hands-on exhibit called "WaterWorks: Soak Up the Science!" as well as the Hall of Ideas.
