The need for freedom in the Middle East has been known for a long time, now it is desperately wanted by those in the mass public. Spreading freedom, the product so many wants is never an easy tasks. The many dangers along the way can make what seem friends into those who are enemies. We must choose well our allies in any conflict or challenge, those we mean to free should be those who choose us. But as the Arab Spring has rebounded in the Middle East, what role is there for the U.S. to play. At this time it seems we are playing both sides, lost then is the focus on the mass public’s needs and desires for freedom. If further violence is to be avoided there must be decisions made, even if those in authority are placed in danger.
The recent weeks have seen more reports coming out of the Middle East, from Bahrain violence, Syria had reporters killed, Egypt still has a rebellion, Iran wants missiles and even relationship damages in Afghanistan. But the real truth is this area has needed to develop for a long time, held back for so long now having to confront facts that do not relate. The longer and more intense anyone of us is held back, the more stressed we become as our survival is seen as in danger. Thus we have people acting in violence as their very natures tell them they are being attacked. Those in authority can say this is not happening but they are not there, not even looking to see this danger. It is the mass public which has to put up with such dangers and make the sacrifices to keep such authority out of danger.
But if this authority wants to keep such protections it too must make sacrifices, it must place itself in the same positions the mass public has been forced into. Then, seeing through the eyes of those who have become victims, will there be lasting changes to be made. Only when you see others as both equals and with rights can one begin to take value in their lives as you do in yours. This leads to discover of what is most needed for the same victims of any event, thus aid can be offered as is needed most.
Value per economics is to be seen from the point of view of the consumer, but this wrong. Reality determines that value is seen in cost associated with this product or service; in this case those with the means do not see value in other lives. They believe the cost of even one life to be so much more than the very existence of themselves. Therefore any authority they have is not to be wasted on the lives of others. During the French Revolution, the sound of “Let them eat cake,” was heard. It did little good then to speak of such a desire when the mass public did not need it.
Again today the authority figures are speaking of things which are not needed but gain only for them. They have forgotten the needs of those they represent and the allies we have made. Instead they are acting without regard, considering instead to micro-manage from such positions too far away to even see with. This will lead to more violence and more deaths as the Middle East freedoms blossoms. As allies we would stand as one, focused on the objectives we have in common and therefore sacrifice for mutual gain. So where is the mutual gain in allow the authority to do nothing? They watch as all the gains we have made are undone with each loss of life. Yet does anyone see them hurting?
