A Middle East model who posted several nude photos on Twitter fears she may be facing harsh penalties for her actions.
The 18 year-old-model, who lives in Abu Dhabi and goes by the Twitter name @MorinaLouv, was gaining popularity over the last several weeks for posting provocative photos of herself laying naked on the bed or standing nude in front of the mirror.
On Wednesday, one of her followers asked why she suddenly stopped posting photos which included her face.
“I can’t,” she replied. “I live in the Middle East, I’d get executed.”
While she has shied away from posting controversial photos, she does not hesitate to weigh in on controversial political affairs. While President Obama is actively seeking approval to initiate military actions against Syria for using chemical weapons against civilians, @MorinaLouv posted the following question to Twitter.
“Why do so many people hate Assad?” tweed the model on Thursday.
That’s a puzzling question when you consider Assad’s actions, but the overall story of @MorinaLouv really does raise some serious questions: Should anyone have to fear execution as a result of posting nude photos on social media? And, should America pursue military action against Syria to punish Assad for using chemical weapons?
