'Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor' walkthrough trailer shows off enemy tech

Warner Bros. have released a full length trailer showing new details on the upcoming Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor title. The trailer goes over some of the main character, Talion, and how his "wrath" powers are able to interact with the real world, and the wrath, almost spirit like world, simultaneously. Moving in and out of the wrath world will allow for more combat options throughout the game.

Using powers of coercion and domination, key tools of the wrath, players will be able to set up unique encounters that feel more personal by taking control of enemy grunts as well as leaders in organizations. When a major character is dominated they will be given options for different types of quests to partake in. The four different types of domination shown in the trailer are to assassinate their leader, terrorize the different camps with stories of Tailon, sacrifice themselves and spy on the organization and feed information back to Tailon. From the trailer these different options will open up side quests for the player to go on.

The enemy AI system, named Nemesis, also will make battles feel more unique and personable. Enemies and organizations that players have come across will remember actions that have happened in the past. For instance, in the trailer, Orthog Troll Slayer remembers that Talion burned his face in a previous encounter. This type of storytelling will make every player's game just a little bit different and may stir up interesting conversations around launch.

No release date has been set for the game quite yet, but Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is slated for this year on the Xbox One, PlayStaion 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms.
