Mid-Rivers Grants to Community Safety Groups

Recently, Mid-Rivers Communications, based in Circle, Montana, donated a total of $11,200 to area Emergency Medical Service (EMS)/ ambulance providers and to area fire departments within Mid-Rivers’ service area ranging from Lewistown, in Central Montana, to Fairview, in Eastern Montana.

Each community fire program received a $200 Mid-Rivers check. In Dawson County, checks were presented to the Glendive Ambulance, the Glendive Gate City Firefighters Association and to the West Glendive Fire Department. Tim Mort, West Glendive Fire Chief said the generous donation helps the West Glendive Fire Department purchase equipment that is generally not covered by grant funding. Wally Broeder, Director of the Glendive Ambulance Service, said they use their Mid-Rivers contribution to purchase rescue dummies for training purposes.

In Broadus, checks were received by the Broadus Volunteer Fire Department and the Powder River First Responders.

Russ Greenwood from the Powder River first responders they used the money for a replacement battery for a piece of equipment. The battery usually costs $156.00 but this year the cost was over $200. He was very grateful for the Mid-Rivers contribution.
