Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council committees to meet in March

The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council announced on Friday, Feb. 14 that two of its committees will meet in March.

The Scientific & Statistical Committee (SSC) will meet on Wednesday, March 12 from 10 am to 5 pm and Thursday, March 13 from 10 am to 2 pm. The Tilefish Monitoring Committee (TMC) will meet on Thursday, March 13 from 3pm to 5 pm.

SSC will discuss what to recommend for three years starting in 2015 regarding tilefish, black sea bass research track development and specifications, its management strategy evaluation, its recent climate workshop, developing a research plan, Magnuson-Stevens Fishery & Conservation Management Act reauthorization and other matters.

TMC will discuss catch limits.

Other matters may come up at the meetings but won’t be the subject of formal actions.

The public is welcome to attend.
