This year’s Mane Event Horse Show is scheduled for October 24, 25, 26 and 27 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Coliseum. This will be the 11th annual show held by the Mid-America Horse Show Association.
The Mane Event draws horses from other states besides Illinois including Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana and Wisconsin. Springfield, Illinois is an ideal location for this show and for forging a great competition between show barns during this year’s events. The show will bring back the Pleasure Olympic Finals and the prestigious national Good Hands Equitation finals.
A non-profit Illinois corporation that was founded in 1939, Mid-America Horse Show Association has become the largest charter club of the American Saddlebred Horse Association. It now boasts over 400 members who are active owners, breeders and exhibitors of American Saddlebreds and Hackney Ponies.
The Mid-America Association holds three affiliated shows a year. It also is involved in the direction of more than 35 affiliated A and B-rated shows in Illinois and nearby states as well as the year-end awards accumulation of points.
