In a report by VG 24/7, Penello said the Illumiroom projector would be an awesome set up for any Xbox One user, but it would come at a high price.
“I wouldn’t expect you’d see that,” Penello said of the Illumiroom projecter, referring to consumers. “It’s really super-neat if you’re in the lab and you’ve got Microsoft money and you could totally set up this awesome lab, but … we looked at it, but for an average customer it’s, like, thousands of dollars (for the set up).”
Rumors had the Xbox One’s Kinect housing the Illumiroom, but now the Illumiroom will be a subject of research only.
The Xbox One was rumored to hit shelves on Nov. 8, but Microsoft quickly snuffed that news, saying the next-gen console will launch in mid-to-late November.
