The Surface Pro 2 speakers have improved greatly from the Surface Pro. Not only are the speakers louder, but the sound is more balanced and clear. Listening to music on the Surface Pro 2 is also a pleasure, especially with different graphic equalizer settings that stress the lower-level frequencies.

The Surface Pro 2 has a 720p front and rear camera. Both take .9MP pictures. This is one thing Microsoft definitely needs to improve upon. Then again, those who buy the Surface Pro 2 to use as a camera are severely misguided.

Battery life

Microsoft greatly addressed the battery problem that plagued the first Surface Pro, which usually lasted about 3 and a half hours with heavy use. We are happy to report that the Surface Pro 2 will give power users five and a half to six hours of use. Average users may be able to get through a whole day without charging the device.

Summary

Microsoft keeps inching towards the perfect laptop-tablet hybrid. The Surface Pro 2 is a powerful device that is great for people who don't want to carry a separate tablet and laptop wherever they go. Let's hope the next Surface Pro is a little lighter and that it includes a keyboard option that doesn't have a half-baked trackpad.
