Microsoft supports Haiti efforts with $1.25 million "initial commitment"

The Haiti event is a great tragedy. Microsoft is making sure to do its part by offering $1.25 million in cash and in-kind contributions to the effort. In addition, they are encouraging employees to donate (considering that Microsoft matches donations dollar-for-dollar up to $12,000). They are focusing on the efforts made through its Bing! and MSN channels and are working to get "critical systems up and running".

For more information about Microsoft's efforts, here's a post by Akhtar Badshah, Senior Director, Global Community Affairs.

Way to go, Microsoft!
