According to a report today from VG 24/7, Microsoft’s director of product planning Albert Penello said the rumors of bugs with the Xbox One’s software development kit have been overblown and that consumers should not worry.
However, Penello took to Reddit to attempt to quell any consternation about the seriousness of the Xbox One bug rumors.
“There is nothing going on behind the scenes nearly as interesting as everyone would like to believe,” Penello said. “We are a month away from launch, and people are working hard to finalize the last of the bugs. There are still a lot things left to be done. We’re crunching and I’m sure Sony’s crunching too.”
Penello said it was a “bizarre phenomenon” with how frenzied the need for information or behind-the-scenes dealings with the Xbox One, saying its “clouding logic and reason” on the Internet.
“I know people are excited. I’m sorry but things are nowhere near as dire or dramatic or exciting as everyone would like to believe,” Penello said, adding that it is the reason why he is not comments on all the rumors floating around because they’re mostly “drastically overblown versus reality.”
The Xbox One will launch on Nov. 22 in the United States and 12 other markets around the world.
