Microsoft may be cutting the price of its next-gen console in the United Kingdom market by nearly $50, but one executive said the platform holder isn’t likely to ditch the Kinect for an Xbox One-only bundle anytime soon, according to a report today from GameSpot.

In an interview with the BBC following the announcement of the Xbox One price cut in the region, Xbox UK marketing director Harvey Eagle called the Kinect “integral” to the next-gen console.

“We’re in it for the long haul,” Eagle said. “Kinect is absolutely integral to Xbox One.”

Eagle and the Xbox UK team announced the price cuts earlier in the day, and the new bundle not only includes the console, controller, Kinect sensor, and a free month of Xbox Live Gold, but also a free copy of the much-anticipated Microsoft exclusive Titanfall.

Eagle defended altering the price of the next-gen console, denying that the Xbox One had somehow missed Microsoft expectations in the region.
