A long time ago the Xbox 360 dashboard was updated, and in that update came quite a few new features for users to take advantage of. One of those features was the ability to use cloud storage, and while it wasn't a lot of storage, it was something.
Recently however Xbox Live users ran into a problem with their cloud storage, and the files saved there. While there hasn't been any word that files stored in the cloud have been lost, the time without those saves affected plenty of people.
The most general error people were running into when trying to access the cloud storage was an "0x807b0198" message. Other users weren't even able to access the cloud portion of their Xbox to get that message, among other issues.
Thankfully, Microsoft jumped right on things and now everything is fixed. That's not all though, Microsoft is handing out free months of Xbox Live to those affected by the glitch, which is pretty classy.
The company is applying a one month extension to those customers impacted by the issue says Microsoft. There's no need to call Xbox Live support, as Microsoft is taking care of everything on their end, per Major Nelson.
Xbox 360 owners can now go back to gaming and saying files in their cloud storage without issues.
