Microsoft Games with Gold rolls out five games to Xbox Live Gold subscribers

Xbox One owners looking for some new games to jumpstart their collection can rejoice in June, as the Games with Gold program will be kicking off proper. Games with Gold will be serving up five free games to Xbox Live Gold members, a hefty bushel of new content for new Xbox One adopters looking to beef up their gaming selections and a great reason to return to the Xbox 360 for some.

Xbox One owners will receive Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault as part of the program, while Xbox 360 veterans will receive Charlie Murder, Dark Souls, and Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. The game releases will be staggered over the course of the month, and should act as a decent incentive to invite back players who may be abandoning ship for the PlayStation 4.

The game rotation will be changed each month to keep things fresh and to invite additional subscribers into the fold -- an interesting move, especially now that Xbox Live Gold memberships will not be required for apps like Netflix.
