Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer indicated in a post to Twitter that gamers will soon hear news about the Xbox One version of Games with Gold, according to a report today from GameSpot.

Answer questions from fans on the social media site, Spencer said that answers to the question of when Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to receive free games on the Xbox One.

“Answer to this will be coming fairly soon,” Spencer said, though he said in a later tweet that it won’t be this week.

Xbox 360 owners with Xbox Live Gold accounts currently have access to the Games for Gold program, which allows for the members who pay $60 a year to get two free games a month for keeps, even if they don’t continue the service.

This month’s free Xbox 360 games are Dead Island and Toy Soldiers: Cold War.

According to a previous GameSpot report, Microsoft announced that Xbox One users would also have access to the Games with Gold program but didn’t mention any specific details at the time.

Sony has offered a similar program with PlayStation Plus members, who can download games to the PS4 and other PlayStation platforms.
