The Downtown Des Moines Mickey's Irish Pub location (206 3rd Street) is hosting a huge St. Patrick's Day weekend party on March 15 - 17. On Friday, March 15, Mickey's will have a party on the patio to kick off the weekend's festivities. There will be no cover for the event.
On Saturday, Mickey's will be open at 6 a.m. for breakfast. The party will then move to the Court Avenue Bridge starting at noon. There will be live music from local bands Decoy, Lesson 7, Pie in the Sky, & The LA Riots during the day. The festivities continue into the evening with performances by Shock G ("Humpty Hump" from Digital Underground), Rob Base (of Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock fame), and Tone Loc.
The green beer will continue to flow on Sunday. The doors at Mickey's will open at 10 a.m., and there will be a fish fry starting at noon on the patio. The party will extend out into the street, and there will again be performances by several local bands (not announced yet).
Advanced tickets for the Friday and Saturday events are $10 each, or a 2-day pass may be purchased for $15. Tickets/passes may be purchased online through Tikly.
