Mickey Rourke and PETA want you to have the balls to spay/neuter your dog

Now that he's got a Golden Globe for "The Wrestler" under his belt and is well on his way to a full fledged Hollywood comeback, Mickey Rourke is using his new found resurgence to speak out on canine issues.

"Have the cojones to fix your dog," Rourke says in a new ad campaign unleashed by controversial animal rights group, PETA, who estimates that 6 to 8 million animals are put to death each year in overcrowded animal shelters.

Rourke, who admits in an interview with PETA, that he is guilty--in the past--for purchasing puppies from a pet store, says he is more aware now of the dog overpopulation issue and would never do that again. The actor urges everyone to spay or neuter their dogs and cats and adopt from shelters.

Watch video of Rourke at the PETA website. He gives an interview with his Chihuahuas, Jaws (brown) and Loki (white), affectionately giving them hugs and kisses throughout, and even saying "Bless you" to Loki when she sneezes.

By now, Rourke's fondness for his dogs is well known, having thanked them during his acceptance speech at the Golden Globes on January 11, and crediting them with saving his life when he appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Mickey recently bought an unaltered puppy mill dog. Like PETA, he's a hypocrite.
