Mickey Mouse and friends are getting contemporary makeovers to go with their new roles.
Times change, and so do styles, looks and technology, so it is fitting to give Mickey, Minnie and friends updated makeovers to bring them in tune with the world of today. Staying true to Walt Disney's vision the cartoon stars still have their original appearance but with a bit of new sass to please today's society.
Everything old is new again.
Cartoon shorts were very popular at the time when Walt Disney created Mickey Mouse in 1928 for "Steamboat Willie". Years before the television age, movies were critical for the masses as a venue for entertainment and to get video news. Entire days were spent in the theater enjoying multiple movie features with news reels in between and cartoon shorts as comic relief. Even into the 1960s and 1970s cartoon shorts were still often shown as an accompaniment to a movie. With the 19 new Disney shorts to be released this year an entire new generation will have fun enjoying the antics of Mickey and his pals in the new presentations to be seen on TV and the internet.
Mickey Mouse and his friends have brought joy to the world for 85 years. Walt Disney's dream beginning with a little mouse continues to grow as his imagination lives on with the help of The Walt Disney Company's Imagineers. The newest adventures of Mickey and the ensemble is an exciting opportunity to bring generations together to enjoy new adventures of lifelong favorite stars.
Walt Disney's vision proves how one should never be afraid to dance!
