Spring Break is just around the corner and this means that many families will visit Disneyland and DCA with fun experiences in mind. There is usually a lot of planning involved with visiting the Parks and it is best for a family to discuss what attractions they will visit and what special performances will be watched. Of course, food is a big part of the Disneyland experience and with so many options; it could be hard to find healthy choices for children. It is now easier with the new Mickey Check. This option now allows parents to check the kids’ menus at quick services and table service restaurants at Disneyland and DCA for healthier food items.

The Mickey Check is an icon on menus and is used for parents to spit nutritious items such as the Udon Bowl at the Carthay Circle Restaurant or the seared salmon at the Blue Bayou. There is a guideline that a meal has to meet to make the Check standards. According to the Blog, Mickey Check Debuts on Quick-Service Menu at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort by Pam Brandon,

“In order to receive the Mickey Check, kids’ meals and other items must meet

Disney Nutrition Guidelines. The Disney Nutrition Guidelines align to the U. S.

Dietary Guidelines for Americans and focus on contributing to a nutritious diet,

encouraging kid appropriate portions (with calorie criteria) and limiting nutrients

to avoid (e.g. sodium, sugar, saturated fat, trans fat).
