Mick Jagger to return to big screen in 'Tabloid...?'

It's been awhile since Sir Mick Jagger has been on the big screen, but that may be about to change.  Jagger may make one of his rare on-screen appearances in "Tabloid," an adult thriller being scripted by "A History of Violence" scribe Josh Olson, according to Deadline Hollywood

Jagger conceived of the idea for the movie, which is said to involve an unscrupulous global media mogul who probably bears no resemblance whatsoever to Rupert Murdoch.  Jagger, who is producing, would probably play that part.  There's also a role for a younger actor--a young journalist sucked into the world Jagger dominates.  "Wall Street" with hacked-into cell phones?

Jagger, an imposing and charismatic screen presence, has made very few screen appearances.  Hehad an uncredited appearance as a bank employee in 2008's "The Bank Job," and that was the first since 2001's "The Man From the Elysian Fields."  He also cameoed in Michael Apted's "Enigma" the same year.  He starred in the movie adaptation of Martin Sherman's play "Bent" in 1997, and was the main reason to see the sci-fi actioner "Freejack" back in 1992.  His first movie appearance was in "Ned Kelly" in 1970.

Olson recently submitted a draft of "One Shot" to Paramount, based on the Lee Child novel.  Tom Cruise is set to star in that one, with Chris McQuarrie ("The Usual Suspects") directing.
