Mick Jagger's SuperHeavy album to be released in September 2011

Is the world ready to hear Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger sing in the Urdu language? That is one of the many artistic sides that Jagger aims to express with his new multi-genre/multi-generational band SuperHeavy, whose debut album has now been officially announced for a September 2011 release. The album's exact release date and title are to be determined.

According to a press release, the album's first single is "Miracle Worker." Universal Republic will release the album in the United States, and A&M Records will release the album everywhere else. Both record labels are part of Universal Music Group, which is the current record company that has the Rolling Stones under contract for new releases and reissues.

As previously reported, SuperHeavy consists of Jagger, Eurythmics co-founder Dave Stewart, Joss Stone, Damian Marley and A.R. Rahman, the Oscar-winning songwriter/composer who is best known for the music of "Slumdog Millionaire."

Stewart and Jagger co-produced the SuperHeavy album, which was recorded in various places around the world, including Los Angeles, India, Miami, Cyprus and France. The SuperHeavy name was inspired by boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

The majority of the SuperHeavy album is in English, but Jagger sings in Urdu on the song "Satyameva Jayate," which Rahman wrote. The song's title means "the truth alone triumphs."

As previously reported, SuperHeavy launched an official YouTube channel with a 55-second video clip that is an abstract introduction to the band. A music video for "Miracle Worker" will be available for viewing on a date to be determined.
