I recently attended the Michoacan all-you-can-eat-and-drink Sunday Brunch buffet, including margaritas and mimosas! Located in Centennial Center on W. Topical Pkwy, and for the stately price of $13.95, the combination of delicious food and bottomless drinks is a bargain difficult to beat.
The ambiance is what one would expect from the Michoacan chain, which hosts locations around the Las Vegas area. One is greeted by large wooden doors, and a non-formal dining environment. Live music is performed. A buffet was set with a large variety of delectable items. My personal favorite was the novillo al cognac beef. A mixture of grilled and dice steak, onions, mushrooms and a dainty cream and cognac sauce. While I was unable to discern what cognac was used, it certainly did not taste like the bottom shelf which is always a welcome sign.
A close second was a tie between two of Michoacan's signature dishes, huevoas a la mexicana. A simple but delicious and heart mixture of tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and jalapenos fried with eggs. The shrimp ceviche, served cold, mixed with tomato, onion, cilantro, and citrus flavor left a zing in the mouth, while ultimately being light in texture.
There were other traditional items as well, including chicken fajitas, pollo horneado, menudo, tournedos, jalapeno poppers, taquitos, and a spread of desert pastries that had something for all interested.
Service at Michoacan is impeccable, and the customer is certainly made to feel as if they are a high priority for the staff.
The combination of low cost, large menu, and excellent service make me delighted to recommend the location at Centennial Center on W. Topical Pkwy to all who are interested.
