Michigan trounces Florida, 79-59

The Michigan Wolverines jumped out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back as they trounced the Florida Gators, 79-59, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday to win the South Region of the NCAA Tournament and advance to the Final Four® in Atlanta. The Wolverines will take on the Syracuse Orange, who defeated Marquette, 55-39, on Saturday to win the postseason tourney's East Region.

Nik Stauskas led all scorers, as the freshman U-M guard tallied 22 points and was a perfect six of six from three-point range, including one shot that increased the Maize and Blue lead in the first half to 41-17. Trey Burke -- named on Monday to both the John R. Wooden All-America Team and the Associated Press All-America first team -- had 15 points, seven assists, and eight rebounds, while freshman 6' 10" forward Mitch McGary continued his late-year dominance with 11 points and nine rebounds. Although Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glenn Robinson III had lower scoring tallies than usual, each made key contributions at critical moments, and finished with nine and six points, respectively.

CBS will televise the the contest between the Wolverines and Orange this Saturday, April 6, with tipoff slated for 8:49 p.m. ET. The victor will play for the national championship next Monday against the winner of the Louisville-Wichita State meeting, which will begin at 6:09 p.m. ET on Saturday, and also will be on CBS.
