Apparently no one told Michigan State University’s creative writing teacher - Professor William Penn – that a Democrat is in the White House and the Democrats are in control of the United States Senate because he still felt a need to horrendously bash the Republicans as if there’s a presidential election tomorrow, according to Fox News on Wednesday.
Though the University would not identify the professor and Penn refused to respond to numerous communications, Campus Reform – a watchdog group that exposes bias on college and university campuses – indentified Penn as the person who made anti-Republican remarks to his students on the first day of classes in his creative writing class on Aug. 29. Though Penn is obviously very opinionated when standing before his students in class, he apparently is not so vocal when confronted by the media to comment on his expressed anti-Republican opinions.
Penn spent at least eight minutes – the length of a video which caught Penn ranting about his prejudice against conservatives rather than talking about creative writing on the first day of class, the subject his students are paying to learn about. Instead, he spoke at length about his extremely biased opinions against Republicans. On the student’s recording of the professor, Penn is heard telling his students that Republicans are a bunch of dying white people who raped this country. He also told his students that Republicans wanted to prevent black people from voting. He called Republicans cheap while saying that they don’t want to pay taxes because they have already raped this country and gotten everything out of it they possibly could have gotten. He also asserted that Republicans don’t want to pay for the students’ tuition because “who are you?” He said that they are “somebody” to him. Apparently he thinks they are somebody he can threaten too, as he told the students, “If I find out you are a closet racist, I am coming after you.”
The video of the Michigan State University employee was secretly recorded by a student who chooses to remain anonymous. On the video, the extremely opinionated Penn told his class his negative opinions of Mitt Romney and his wife Ann. In fact, he reportedly made fun of Mrs. Romney during the recorded rant.
The University’s response to the revelations regarding the Republican-bashing and conservative-bashing creative writing teacher came from the University’s spokesperson Kent Cassella who said that Michigan State University is thankful that they have been made aware of the situation, and they claim that they will be looking into the situation.
