Dementia care sharing and learning sessions with Clarice Cook
There are many great caregivers available for the general population of aging and disabled persons. However, not everyone has the interactive and communication skills to be a successful dementia caregiver. Family members who are trying to decide who will take what role in caring for their loved ones and professional caregivers who want to expand their qualifications in the area of dementia care can benefit greatly from these ongoing sessions.
Information and sharing sessions in dementia care with a local dementia care giving specialist. Clarice Cook, will be starting with introductory sessions for family and professional caregivers, October 12 and 26th of 2012. Interested persons will receive information and resource tools to enhance quality of life and give families peace of mind, helping them to keep a connection with a loved one and learn how to care for themselves in the process.
Family and professional caregivers are invited to be a part of the Dementia Quality Care Team with certificates of completion at the end of the introductory sessions. The introductory classes will be $5.00 per person with a portion going to the dementia care effort at the community center and to pay for information materials.
*Clarice Cook has on the job training and is skilled in working with persons with mental disabilities and dementia issues going back over 20 years.
