Michigan professional organizers shine at national conference

Spring has sprung in Michigan and local professional organizers recently shone brightly in the national organizing spotlight.

Approximately 35 Michigan professional organizers - representing nearly 40% of all organizers in the state-descended on the Hyatt Regency-Columbus in Columbus, Ohio for the 22nd Annual National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO)Conference and Organizing Exposition on April 21 - 24, 2010.   

Some highlights from the event:

• Debbie Stanley of Red Letter Day Counseling and Consulting, PLLC in Clinton Township, Michigan was honored with the prestigious 2010 NAPO Founders Award for her outstanding achievement, influence, dedication to the field of professional organizing.
• Michigan NAPO members - including Cindy Glovinsky LMSW, ACSW of Ann Arbor,  Donna Smallin of Rochester and Debbie Stanley of Clinton Township - who attended the conference had a combined total of more than 15 books published about organizing at home and in the office, and nearly one million combined copies sold to date.     
• Three NAPO members from Michigan served as conference presenters to help educate hundreds of new and veteran organizers who attended the conference, including Judy Lubowicki of Clutterfree Organizing of Fenton, Angie Weid of Organized Solutions in Temperance and Cindy Glovinsky LMSW,  of Ann Arbor.  
• Michigan based exhibitors at the conference included Organized Greetings/Send Out Cards, The Clever Container Co , and NAPO Premier Industy Partner Gladiator Garage Works.   
• All attending organizers had the opportunity to learn about organizing topics that included not only residential organizing, but green organizing, business and information organizing, electronic and online organizing, productivity tools, organizing for the growing needs of the expanding senior population.
