Extreme Makeover to benefit homeless pets
The Roverhaul Project is MHS’s take on the popular program Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Partnering with Lowes and Valspar stores they will be refurbishing municipal animal shelters. An animal shelter is meant to be a temporary place for a pet to move from their lot in life of being homeless to loved. This project will help to make a pet’s shelter experience safer and healthier.
The River Rouge Animal Shelter needs you
With the approval and support of the mayor, police chief, animal control officer, and staff, MHS’ first Roverhaul project will be at the River Rouge Animal Shelter. Beginning in April, MHS, Lowes, and Valspar plan on:
- diamond gridding the floors
- adding epoxy paint and sealant to the floors, walls, and doors
- adding cyclone fencing
- florescent lights
- cinder block walls
- exhaust fans
- washer/dryer unit
- a water heater
- storing units
- additional cage space; and much more.
