A $2,500 reward was offered on Friday for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the culprit who tortured and abused a small dog and tossed him into a trashcan near Grand River and Warwick Streets in Detroit reported mlive.com.

Poor little Edgar, as the four-year Maltese has now been named, was discovered early last Sunday morning as a man walked his own dog near an alley and heard whimpering noises. Upon closer inspection, the plaintive cries were coming from Edgar as he lay there suffering from urine burns all over his body; just tossed away like yesterday's trash.

The little pooch was rescued by the Michigan Humane Society and rushed to a veterinarian. A trash bag handle had been twisted around Edgar's neck. He is now being treated, bathed, and humane advocates hope for the little guy to make a full recovery.

If anyone has any information about this little dog, please call the Michigan Humane Society Hotline at (313)-872-3401. All information will be kept confidential.

Helping Edgar recover is expected to be expensive. Please donate to the Michigan Humane Society and help this little pooch and others who are the innocent victims of egregious torture, neglect, and abuse.
