Watch out, Michigan! There’s a new star in town, and she’s ready for her close-up! Lucy, a three-year-old terrier mix, has been chosen from thousands of entrants as one of five dogs to be featured on The View during their 4th annual Mutt Show, airing at 11 a.m. this Friday on WXYZ Channel 7. Lucy was adopted two years ago by Beverly Larsen of Highland, MI, from the Michigan Humane Society Rochester Hills Center for Animal Care.
“When we got there (at MHS), it was late, and she was all the way down at the end – it was love at first sight!” Larsen said. “Now, two years later, we have a little celebrity in our midst! We’re so excited and happy. She brings so much love to our house and so much joy to our lives.”
The Mutt Show is The View’s answer to the Westminster Dog Show. Focusing on shelter dogs and so-called mutts, the program will feature Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show commentator David Frei taking the top five dogs from thousands of online entries through the paces as they compete to be named “Best in Show!” However, in this show, instead of being judged on how well they conform to the breed standard, these pets are judged on how cute they are!
Larsen and Lucy will be flown to New York this week for this Friday’s episode, which can be seen at 11 a.m. on WXYZ Channel 7.
