Michigan edges Kansas in overtime, 87-85

Down by 14 points in the second half, the Michigan Wolverines staged a furious comeback that sent their NCAA Tournament "Sweet 16" matchup with the Kansas Jayhawks into overtime, where they edged the No.1-ranked team in the South Region, 87-85, on Saturday night at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The thrilling OT victory extended the season for the Wolverines, who now move into the postseason tourney's "Elite Eight®," where they will play the winner of the Florida-Florida Gulf Coast game, which as of this writing had not been completed.

Trey Burke, who had no points in the first half, finished the contest with 23 and was the hero for U-M, as the sophomore point guard and Big Ten Player of the Year sank a three-point basket with just over four seconds left in regulation to knot the score at 76-76. In the extra period, Burke continued to lead the charge for the Maize and Blue, with plenty of help from Mitch McGary, who led all scorers with 25 points, and had another sensational game on the boards, as the freshman forward grabbed 14 rebounds.

All five Michigan starters finished in double figures, as guard Tim Hardaway Jr. had 10 points, guard Nik Stauskas had 11 points, and forward Glenn Robinson III had 13 points.
