The Michigan Boxer Club will be holding its annual fall Specialty show on Friday, September 30 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. The American Kennel Club-licensed show will include a Specialty show for Boxers only, and a Sweepstakes, which is a non-point show for Boxers aged 6 to 18 months.
Schedule of Judging
The Sweepstakes will begin at 9:00 a.m. with judge Ms. Tami Mishler. Nineteen Boxers are entered in the Sweepstakes, competing for the prizes of $75 for Best Puppy and Best Junior, and then $100 for Best in Sweepstakes. Specialty judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. under judge Col. Joe B. Purkhiser, who will have 71 dogs to evaluate in the ring.
Responsible Dog Ownership Day
MBC is hosting a Responsible Dog Ownership Day event with its Specialty. Boxer breeders, owners, and exhibitors will be on hand to answer questions about the breed and dog ownership in general. Educational literature will be available, along with pet fire safety window clings and children's coloring books.
Fundraising for Boxer Rescue
The Michigan Boxer Club will provide complimentary coffee and pastries on Friday morning, with donations appreciated. Throughout the day the Club will sell tickets for a basket raffle, the winners of which will be drawn shortly following the completion of Best of Breed judging. All proceeds from the basket rafflee and donations will be used to benefit local Boxer rescue groups.
