The Michigan Wolverines completed a season sweep of the Michigan State Spartans on Sunday with a 79-70 win at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. The victory boosted the No. 20-ranked Wolverines to 19-7 overall on the college basketball campaign and 11-3 in the Big Ten, where they took over first place from the No. 13-ranked Spartans, who dropped to 22-6 overall and 11-4 in conference play.
U-M struggled in the first half, but managed to cut an 11-point MSU lead to just two points at the break to trail 36-34. In the second stanza, Nik Stauskas and Caris LeVert asserted control for the Maize and Blue, as the sophomore guards finished with 25 and 23 points, respectively. Stauskas led all scorers, while Gary Harris paced the Spartans with 21 points.
