The Answer Inc started Guilford’s STEM Program of Choice this summer with their first RISE Program for middle school students. Pastor Wayne Robinson (former founder and director of Center for Champions Program in the old Gillespie Elementary Building on Martin Luther King) teamed up with Dr. John Kelly (Chairperson & Associate Professor of North Carolina A&T’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering) to form the brain child - The RISE Program.
With a strong focus on Math, Science, Reading, English, Communication, and Robotics/Engineering, the students certainly have a packed day of activities. With the assistance of Melanie Buckingham (Environmental Resources Librarian at Kathleen Clay Edwards Library), The RISE Program registered 20+ students with Guilford County’s Summer Reading Program. As these rising middle school students complete their reading objectives daily, there are book reports written to review the content.
