Michelle Wie apology on golf talent from Annika Sorenstam accepted (Photos)

Michelle Wie has reportedly accepted an apology from Annika Sorenstam. According to an April 5 Sports World report, Wie has confirmed that Sorenstam approached her personally to apologize for knocking her talent to Golf Magazine.

Wie, 23, was once concerned a prodigy, but has struggled since winning the Canadian Women’s Open in 2010. Sorenstam pointed this out, saying Michelle’s talent wasn’t there and that it might be due to spending so much time playing in men’s tournaments instead of focusing on the women’s tour.

Wie said Annika reached out to her to apologize and explained that she was misquoted in part. Sorenstam is encouraging Michelle to do what is necessary to get back on top, which means focusing on the women’s tour instead of tournaments, because the LPGA desperately needs a star.

Anika Sorenstam is confident that Michelle Wie has what it takes to take the golf world by storm. What are your thoughts?
