Michelle Wie has accepted the apology from Annika Sorenstam. According to an April 4 report by ESPN, Annika Sorenstam has apologized for her “one of many” comments she made during a recent interview with Golf Magazine about Michelle Wie.
Annika Sorenstam had harsh words for Michelle Wie, once considered a “child prodigy.” In her interview with Golf Magazine, she said that Michelle Wie's talent “is not there.” She went on to explain how she thought Michelle Wie's decision to compete in the PGA and not just in the LPGA may have hurt her career and brought about “tough consequences” for the struggling golfer.
Michelle Wie claims she didn't read the interview with Annika Sorenstam in Golf Magazine. She said she didn't what Annika Sorenstam had said about her.
At the time of publication, it appears this matter has been resolved. Annika Sorenstam apologized for her less-than-kind remarks. Michelle Wie has accepted that apology. Perhaps both golfers can now move forward.
