In an interview with Univision Radio, First Lady Michelle Obama said that if she were the mother of a nineteen year old young man who had inclinations towards racing cars, drinking alcohol, and private jets, that she would "pull him up close." Mrs. Obama went on to say that she would be "very present in his life," be available every day, and try to figure out what is going on in his head, according to ABC News, Feb. 9, 2014.

In addition, President Barack Obama is having to provide his input on Justin Bieber as well. The White House petition calling upon the President to deport Bieber has over a quarter of a million signatures, far above the 100,000 minimum signatures required for a Presidential response. White House spokesperson Jay Carney promised that the White House would be responding to the petition "relatively soon."

Mrs. Obama explained that she has discovered with her own children that they need their parents to stay close to them and need frequent advice from parents. She then applied the same principle to Justin Bieber, stating:

"The thing is he’s still a kid. He’s still growing up. So, I would pull him close.”
