Michelle Obama sparkles in Jason Wu fashion at State of the Union Address (Video)

While Michelle Obama represented her family when her husband delivered his fifth State of the Union address that took place on Feb. 12, the First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) was wearing a really sparkly ensemble designed by Jason Wu.

According to Getty Images, during this important speech in which Barack blew Michelle a kiss, his wife was sitting next to Cleopatra Pendleton, mother of Hadiya Pendleton, a talented teen who was shot and killed in Chicago a week after performing at the second Obama Presidential Inauguration.

As the FLOTUS sat in the Capitol Building with such esteemed guests while Barack delivered his fresh address that covered the economy, immigration reform, gun control, and climate change, her dress was scrutinized by sartorial pundits from all over the social media world. Some liked the two-toned sheath, some who did not.

Indeed, certain style critics thought the ensemble that also featured a sparkly rhinestone brooch was a bit too fancy for the occasion. In fact, The Washingtonian editor at large Carol Joynt thought the frock would have been better worn to a cocktail party instead of a State of the Union address.

Still, Michelle Obama was the toast of the star-studded and politico-filled crowd on hand at Congress to hear her husband's speech, still rocking her much talked about bangs that looked as if they might have been trimmed a bit in recent days but still as flattering as ever as worn by the FLOTUS on Tuesday night.
