First Lady Michelle Obama revealed a drastic change in her appearance on Thursday - her 49th birthday - as Yahoo Entertainment News posted pictures of President Barack Obama’s wife on its online pages. The photos popped up on Twitter and elsewhere via Getty images as well.

Unlike the world has seen Michelle Obama before, she is now sporting a very different look with her black hair being worn straight and shoulder-length. The new style also incorporates bangs – hair hanging down over the forehead - which she has not been seen with before.
The First Lady posted her 49-year-old birthday picture on her brand new Twitter account. The photo is said to have been taken as she was planning Monday’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service with David Hall who is a co-chair of the Presidential Inaugural which will also be on Monday as President Barack Obama is sworn in for his second term as president of the United States on the Mall in Washington, D.C.
On the social media web site, Twitter, where Michelle Obama debuted the new look, the vast majority of replies to her picture were in favor of the new hairdo and look.
