According to reports on Jan 23, 2013, the First Lady was not seen quite amused by the banter that her husband, President Obama had with Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) during the Inauguration Day luncheon.
Michelle Obama kept up with her husband all through the proceedings during the day on Monday for the second inauguration ceremony. But it seems she wasn’t entertained by the wit that the President shared with Boehner.
During the Inauguration Day luncheon, President Obama leaned behind his wife at one point to speak to John Boehner as he was sitting to the left of the First Lady and both discussed something.
As Boehner replied, the President tapped his wife probably to see if she too agrees with the response. However, the First Lady was seen rolling her eyes indicating that she didn’t agree enough.
Later, the President gave short remarks stating that the Speaker of the House and his wife agreed that he should keep it short and not delay the proceeding much.
