Michelle Obama rocks red for Commander-In-Chief Inaugural Ball (Photos)

U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama attended the Commander-In-Chief's Inaugural Ball as part of the festivities of President Obama’s inauguration earlier in the day on January 21, 2013 in Washington, DC.

President Obama commenced his second term by taking the Oath of Office earlier in the day during a ceremony on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol, although he and Vice President Joe Biden were officially sworn in yesterday.

According to a White House official, the First Lady is wearing a custom-made Jason Wu ruby red chiffon and velvet gown, shoes by Jimmy Choo and a handmade diamond embellished ring by jewelry designer Kimberly McDonald.

At the end of the inaugural festivities, Mrs Obama’s outfit and accompanying accessories will head to the National Archives.

President Obama looked dapper in his black tuxedo, crisp white shirt with bowtie and white pocket kerchief, teamed with black patent leather oxfords.

Vice President Joe Biden didn’t look so bad either in his tux! And Dr. Jill Biden looked lovely in her blue gown as well as she danced with Joe.

Tonight, the Obamas danced with members of the U.S. armed forces at the Commander-In-Chief Ball at the Walter Washington Convention Center, where singer Alicia Keys was part of the musical accompaniment. Keys sang and played the piano in a red chiffon gown.

Other performers at the inaugural ball at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center were Jennifer Hudson, Brad Paisley, Jamie Foxx and the band Fun.

Of all the inaugural balls that were held at the Capital, this is one that seemed to be one custom-made for the Commander in Chief, Barack Obama!
